Description
MTL gets lucky and drafts Alexis Lafreniere the home town boiii.

Montreal needs a back up goaltender badly and they overpay Cam Talbot.

Montreal needs an offensive LD that can carry the offense and be a quarterback on the PowerPlay.
Claude Julien use his connection and get krug to sign here.

Montreal practices a speed game but they are too small to compete againts the big teams. (adding kovalchuk)
Marc Bergevin takes a gamble and trades Max Domi and Victor Mete for a young player that needs to proove himself as a top6 Roope Hintz.

Roope might produce less point than domi but he is a big foward with speed and talent. Most importantly he can enter de front of the net something that the habs struggles because of their size.

Dallas obtain a 2nd line center for years to come and a LD 3rd pair dman.

Depending were the #Habs will be at the trade deadline Armia, tatar, kovalchuk and petry can be traded to a contender team.

No from Dallas. From my end I highly value Hintz. I think that he is a better all around player than Domi. He is also slightly younger and cheaper...for now.

As for Mete, Dallas is pretty stacked on the left side right now and I doubt Mete would be able to climb the latter in front of Heiskanen, Lindell, Oleksiak and Harley.

I don’t think Montreal and Dallas should do this deal at all. Bad for both clubs.

Oilers can't afford to spend 3.4mil on a bottom-6 guy that doesn't fill their 3C spot- least of all when spending picks that they're already short on. Byron is also worth the 4th alone. At least try to consider the other team's perspective on things.

oilers say no to this. They are trying to shed cap not blow space on a third line player being paid 3.5M through 22-23. Better to use such money to lock up bear and save space for a yamo contract.

Agreed would take more from Montreal to acquire Hintz. Maybe Domi and Caufield

Dallas needs offense and a real playmaker like I would need water after 10 days in the Sahara desert. I would swap Drouin or Domi for Lindell in a heartbeat. Not because we would have an advantage in the deal but because it would address a recurring problem in Dallas.
