You’d better take Askarov now

I'm assuming CHI does just that (provided they don't win the lottery)

We can't win the lottery because we're going to sweep the oilers.

Deal isn't bad but imo, I would want to see how Kase and Studnicka do in our middle-six at RW before trading for another guy. If they're playing well, no need for this trade.

Please no. I'd have hard time standing the neverending bleating of Oilers fans on this site when they win the draft...

Call me crazy, but I'm not a big fan of Lindell. Not great offensively, just okay defensively. I don't watch a ton of Dallas, so I'll reserve some judgement, but the numbers aren't . But if we're trading Strome, I'd rather it be for someone else, I still have a lot of faith in him.

I don’t see why Chicago would make this trade. Statistically speaking, Lindell is slightly overrated, and there’s an argument to be made that Määttä is even to Lindell (arguably better).

I‘m assuming the deal is essentially Strome for Lindell & then Määttä & Comeau are really more in there to even out the cap space, but Chicago is giving up two valuable assets and only receiving one in return. I don’t see Bowman making this trade unless Dallas throws in some kind of sweetener or takes Comeau out & adds a piece of value.

Drop Comeau then. Money would be tight but it's tolarable.

Might as well add Honka to the mix.

There’s still not enough going back to Chicago though.

Strome is on the verge of being a very solid top-6 forward and Määttä is easily a top-4 defenseman. Chicago gets arguably a slightly worse replacement for Määttä in order to save money on Strome’s contract? I don’t know man. I’m not saying it’s gonna cost a 1st or anything to get the deal done, but there’s just not enough value going the other way.

I'm not sold on Määttä being TOP4 D-man. 3rd pair in stronger teams, 2nd pair in weaker ones. Even if CHI Keith and De Haan goes above him in their depth chart.

Wouldn't be too surprised if CHI consider a buyout...they need cap space, and buying out Määttä is surpisingly cheap.

Yup. It’s a bad trade. Strome for Brodin is better

Hawks should stay away from that Dallas trade. Strome for Brodin is better, but really Strome shouldn't be on the block at all

Esa Lindell would look amazing in a Blackhawks jersey, one of my favorite defensemen in the league atm
