Kings decline. They have no need for Johnsson.

Not sure the Leafs would need to add anything. Nylander is a top line winger. Klingberg is no slouch either as a solid offensive RHD and Faksa brings an element the leafs need. For me this deal takes from the strengths of both teams and adds to areas of need in the top tier of their respective lineups.

Doesn’t necessarily need to be the Kings. Anyone that could use a player like Johnsson. I doubt it’ll be very hard to find someone to take him at that price.

Except it'd leave DAL with Johns as their only RHD...they ain't moving Klingberg without getting due price.

I still want that 2nd.

I would suggest it will be very hard finding someone to take Johnsson at that price. 2/3 of the teams are tight to the cap and will not be interested in adding an undersized 3rd line winger who can't score at even strength and coming off a major leg injury. The remaining teams with some excess cap space will get lots of other offers from other teams and will find better players or equal players with less cap hit.

This is the exact reason why I'd say the Leafs should shop Kerfoot's name instead, if they feel they must deal one of the 3+ million dollar 3rd liners. Johnsson's value would normally be crappy 2nd to high 3rd Rd pick at best case, but after his injury and lower stats and the salary cap staying frozen for at least another season, I'd say his value drops to the 4th Rd pick. Trading Kerfoot would get the Leafs the 2nd or 3rd Rd pick plus maybe a prospect or just another cheap player downgrade like Kardi for Kerfoot was.
