I mean trading him just makes sense imo. Ducks are a ways off from the playoffs, and he's got just one year left.

Agreed. Trade him to a team like Carolina or Winnipeg. Anyone who could use (and afford) a center like him for the playoffs

Probably retain some money with a flat cap, and probably still pull a decent package for a all in team. There’s definitely a shortage of top end centers, gamble or not.

He wouldn't waive for that, he'll definitely get to pick as long as the offer is good enough. Likely Winnipeg, Boston, Vegas if they trade Stasny, Canes

He’s 35 making 8.25 mil and a shell of the guy he use to be! At 2.5-3.5 mil he’s a great 2/3 C for a contender... not a top 2 center

Getzlaf gets paid more than Stastny, who would be moved due to his cap

I bet Leafs would want him on their roster so maybe that can happen.. half retained for Kerfoot+conditional 1st round pick (based on performances). Anaheim would get younger and Leafs would get much more experienced. Getzlaf on 3rd line with Robertson and Kapanen would be scary.

@HadesOfSoCal you know he supposedly has another home in Newport right? Looking at the housing market this is the best time to sell a home before mortgages go back up. Im doubtful he gets traded.

Hey has a say where he gets traded to, Don't see Getzlaf waiving his NMC for Buffalo.

Even if they retained 50% on Getzlaf thats a savings of 2.25 mill theyre trying to dump 6.5
