Since can’t do conditional picks based on resigning remove the 3rd from oilers and we got a deal. Obviously this is based on oilers not loosing play in and winning lottery. Good deal remove the second going to oilers too that doesn’t seem needed.

The contracts are off because quite frankly I am not very good at valuing contracts. I always seem to be a little high or a little low.

I like Lavoie in the top 9 he has good size and has put up 70+ points in the Q the last 2 years

Edit* I forgot to add that Alzner is on LTIR because as of 3 days ago there were still reports of CBO's being discussed. I am not saying there will be or that he will be bought out or anything else. Just with Romanov being given his number the writing is on the wall that he will not be with Montreal next season one way or another. See story below.

1. There was no conditional pick this would be a sign and trade type of deal.

2. The 2nd going the other was was to ease the sting of taking the Oil out of the 1st round cause if they don't get a 2nd back then they do not have a pick in the first 4 rounds of the draft.

3. Yes definitely assumes the Oilers do not win the lottery whether or not they win the play in I feel is irrelevant as it is still a pretty fair deal.

Wild aren't giving up Dumba and a 22 3rd for Domi and a 2nd. Guerin thinks highly of the Wild defense and he knows the strength of the team so he won't rip that apart for the center the Canadiens want to give up. To acquire a guy like Brodin or Dumba you have to give up someone that it hurts to give up.

Not discussing about value here, but with the expansion draft coming up next year, MIN cant keep everyone. if MIN keep Dumba, I guess it means they dont resign Brodin? Or they go 4 fowards- 4 defensemen on their protection list? Domi for Dumba would settle that problem.

Agreed but until Guerin finds the right trade I'm sure the plan is to wait until after the ED to re-sign Brodin. It probably means he costs a bit more to re-sign but all indications are that he is happy here so it shouldn't be a problem.

There is an issue with that strategy though is IF Seattle decides to take Brodin in the ED any way then offer him 8 Mil x 7 year I don't know that Min can match that

Yep that is a risk. It is ideal for Guerin to find a good deal for Dumba before the expansion draft and then re-sign Brodin but until that happens the best bet is to wait and re-sign Brodin.

Let Brodin hit the UFA market and "Hope he likes it here and resign" is a disastrous plan.

Domi + MTL 2020 2nd + STL 2020 2nd for Dumba

Take it wink
