Despite this being a HORRIBLE overpay for Marner, there's this wonderful thing called the salary cap that Carolina has to abide by and reject

I highly doubt Marner would ever get that kind of return if the Leafs were to trade him.

Players of his calibre never get returns that equal their value, which is why they wont trade him
