Trades
BOS
  1. Puljujärvi, Jesse [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
Puls will not play in Edmonton. Edmonton will not get back what his potential suggests he is worth. He has yet to prove himself.
EDM
  1. Grzelcyk, Matt
Additional Details:
Plus rights to JFK.
I really do believe we will lose Gryz to expansion draft if Krug re-signs. Be a shame to lose him for nothing.
BOS
  1. Virtanen, Jake [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Seems to be on the naughty list in Van. Bruins probably wouldn’t trade for him. Just because they seem to avoid anyone with any drama off the ice. But he might benefit from a strong leadership group in Boston.
VAN
  1. Kase, Ondrej
  2. Moore, John
Additional Details:
Virtanen might be a better fit in Boston and Kase might be a better fit in Van. Moore would be a good leader for that team. Some might feel Moore is a cap dump. But he really is not. Good leader and a solid bottom 4 D.
Retained Salary Transactions
  • David Backes: $1,500,000 (25%)

Puli is changing his tune quite a bit though.. decent chance there’ll be a second chance.

That Grz trade makes no sense. Id rather pay for SEA to not take a player then give up Grz for a guy who left the NHL because he wasn't happy

That’s a possibility, but there’s no guarantee that Seattle would do that.

Still believe Puljujarvi got some potential but if he struggles, we give up Grzelcyk for literally nothing. And no fit since EDM have enough dmen, they would want a (scoring) winger. Try to send Ritchie tears of joy

Trading Kase for Virtanen isn't a good idea. Nothing guaranteed with Puljujarvi-Virtanen; let's see how Kase-Studnicka/Bjork do on RW these playoffs and then move for a RW, if needed. This team doesn't need many changes.

Every team has a price. Id give up a 2nd for them to not take Grz. I also think he's protected as im 70/30 that Krug is leaving unless the open market isn't quite what he thought it'd be

Holland will ask for more.... Intentions have always been to bring him back to Edmonton and that continues to look very realistic.

I don't think it is going to be crazy but there are like 6 guys worth spending alot of money on and krugs one of them. The bruins have lived off the pp so I think they find someway to keep him. Grizz idk, trade seattle a pick to pass him over or trade him for futures , either could happen really too many variables to say.

The griz trade is an abomination.

Can’t sign debrusk for four years. Brings him right to UFA without buying out any UFA years. No chance Sweeney ever offers him four years.

Puju is not worth an NHL dman. Barley worth an AHL defenseman.
