Preds pass. NSH needs the pick more than they need Glendening.

If isles took cap back they would want a forward. They already have too many D men as is.

Should det not pick off a goalie of the future type, pre expansion draft, or worried about too much rubber in the rebuild process, Was kinda wondering about pit or van or even Vegas as some options, somebody worth protecting anyway.

Trade route the following names are rumored: Jake Allen, Tristan Jarry, Matt Murray, or Alexandar Georgiev (and Marc-Andre Fleury if Vegas chooses Lehner). In UFA it becomes: Cam Talbot, Thomas Greiss, or Aaron Dell.

Devan Dubnyk and Pekka Rinne will have 1 year left on their contracts and might not fit their teams cap anymore.

And that excludes goalies on the market that are expected to re-sign with their teams or go to Cup contenders:
Braden Holtby (Washington), Robin Lehner (Vegas), Jacob Markstrom (Vancouver), Jaroslav Halak (Boston), Corey Crawford (Chicago) and Anton Khudobin (Dallas).

So they have some options. But they will get at least a backup.

Ideally there’s one around that 25 years old and plays well enough do garner something longterm, and cost of acquiring not crazy high, personally I would try to get Murray out of pit or demko out of van. I wonder if lehner would have enough left in the tank for a couple year build and 3/5 year run of success

I like the Nashville & Dallas trades. Big Dillon fan but not a fan of losing DDK. NYI would have to pay more to dump Boychuk imo.

As a DAL fan I'd rather have just picks for Faksa...neither Bowey or Hirose is likely to fit in our lineup. But the value is decent.

Detroit should work out a deal with Vancouver who has cap problems and see if they can get Demko in return.

I'm ok with 2 of those trades but from the comments the other teams aren't. Detroit is giving up too much for Faska in the Dallas trade. Filppula had more points than him take out the pick and I'd take it. From Detroit's pov Boychuk is a cap dump since Detroit doesn't need any more RDs. Detroit needs a defenseman to play the left side, a goalie
and a center. So Bellows isn't something Detroit really needs right now. If Detroit takes a winger it will be Raymond if they take a center its Rossi.

Vancouver is good on cap for now (they need to reserve some for Pettersson and Hughes in 21-22) and only really needs to trade a goalie by the trade deadline to avoid losing to Seattle. That's enough time to re-sign Markstrom shot-term and figure out if Demko is the backup or the starter. Whatever goalie doesn't project out gets traded by the deadline.

That's why I didn't include Demko in the serious goalie movement list this offseason.

To be fair, Faksa is a defensive center and a pretty strong one. I think it would do Detroit a lot of good to have a player like this. The price can be adjusted, but just pointing out that we need to recognize the reason for this transaction. He'd be a perfect 3C for this team in the long run, and a stable 2C until then.

If Wahlstrom was in the NYI deal in some way, might the team bite?
