this doesn’t seem like the smartest move because barzal is only gonna get better and that means his contract cap hit is only gonna get higher so why not just bite the bullet and give him the 10mil/8yrs so you don’t have to give him 11+ in 2 years when he’s putting up even better numbers

Although I think he'd get more than that for 8 years even right now... I think they'd have to give maybe even 11M for 8 years.

The only way Barzal get 10X8 is if someone offer sheets him more reasonable is 9X8. I think he can take a bridge deal for 3 years if it is 7.5million
by the Pullock max contract 6.5X7 he wants to stay in the island
