Marino is in the same category as Fox, Hughes and Makar IMO

Mike Sullivan has seemed really lazy so far. The fact that at least 2 forwards on your team don’t even know what the other team’s first line is very concerning for the Pens and he didn’t even try to get his top 2 lines against worse/less experienced competition even though he had last change.

JJ doesn’t deserve to be in the lineup. If Drouin scored on the penalty shot, it would be completely his fault that the Pens lost, since he would’ve caused 2 goals. How is he still in the NHL?

What baffles me is that Zucker played great with Sid and he separated them

Don’t ever mention Marino in the same breath as Makar...

Probably Riikola? I haven’t watched him play much, but it doesn’t seem like he has any glaring issues. And it seems like almost any NHL defenseman would be better than JJ at this point.

What trade was better

Edmonton Oilers
Conditional 6th

Pittsburgh Penguins
John Marino

Or
Los Angeles Kings

Chicago Blackhawks
Kubalik.

Marino

I’m biased, but I think it’s close and in favor of the hawks.

Marino SLIGHTLY, only bc it was a 2021 6th vs a 2019(?) 5th, comparing the 2 players is splitting hairs

Dahlin, Hughes, Heiskanen, and Makar are not the same category, they are a tier above Fox and Marino

Marino. Everyone knew Kubaik would at least be decent due to dominating the Swiss league. Marino had little to no hype and it was seen as a nothing trade at the time.

what I'd run is
Zucker-Sid-McCann: Neither McCann or Sheary looked good at all tonight, but McCann looked bad playing with Hornqvist and Marleau vs Sheary looking bad with Crosby lol
Guentzel-Geno-Rust: really shouldn't need an explanation+ it allows Zucker to play with sid which looked great in a small sample size over the tdl
ZAR-Blueger-Tanev: technically they'd still be the 4th line, but let's be real, they don't play 4th line mins (and they're still really good)
Laf(not that one 😂)-ERod-Johnson/Hornqvist/Marleau: I want to see what Lafferty can bring, I've always been a huge ERod fan (imo the best player we got in that trade) and pick your other winger lol, I'm biased in saying I want Johnson bc zoom

Dumo-Letang
MP-Marino: they're the top 4. Play them somewhat evenly probably
Rikkola-Ruh: Riikola has been great everywhere this year, Ruh can hold his own and won't cost us multiple goals (@jack Johnson)

Jarry in net

Go back to Geno on the wall (🙄), Sid down low, Letang/Marino as the QB, Guentzel far side with Zucker or Hornqvist (if he plays) in front of the net on PP1

Fox had easily the best season out of any of them

I’m not sure I agree with the reasoning, Marino was solid at Harvard.

Who cares at this point, Kubalik is a 2LW right now and Marino is a top4 RHD. Time will tell but as for now I’ll give an hedge go Kubalik. But RHD have more value then a winger, so later probably Marino > Kubalik IF IF IF lol
