Team Explanation
Something about their current core makes me think they won’t ever win with them, so I don’t think trading them for mega assets is a terrible idea.

I think you could do better with the Barkov and Ekblad trades honestly, but it's a good start.

As a DAL fan it'd be rough to part with Hintz and these prospects, but if it brings us Huberdeau I'm for it.

Rangers probably do that if you take out Nils. Swap Nils with a lesser LHD prospect? Reunanen? Robertson?

I guarantee there are 29 other teams willing to meet or exceed that price for barkov. Would be a steal for the rangers

this is a steal for new york. a lesser prospect isn’t needed because this isn’t an overpay.

Panthers probably wouldn’t take Tony D, he’s too offensive minded and they have Yandle already

Quality > quantity

The bidding for Barkov starts with a top-5 pick in this year’s draft plus a stud nhl-ready prospect

Yeah, looking this trade over again, the rangers package isn’t too off but I think the First round pick would need to be 2020

If so, it would be the worse one

Jets easily and happily beat that offer for Barkov.

2020 1st
2021 1st
Heinola(Stud Prospect)
Roslovic (Good young NHL middle 6 player)

I may even be okay adding more. I do think that many teams would match or exceed this level of an offer. Gimme Barkov, Laine and Ehlers for the next decade. If the Jets win 1st overall pick this year, I would even restructure the deal around it for Barkov.

If jets were to actually offer that I think florida would accept, I’m very high on Heinola

FLA could do much better than that for Barkov. If COL wanted to go ham they could offer Newhook, Jost, Timmins and 2 1st rd picks, which is a stud C prospect, a middle 6 young guy who I think is a 40-50pt guy given the ice time and quality line mates, a top 4 d prospect who is ready now, and 2 1st. I don’t think they would do it but if they did that’s the kind of package FLA should be looking for Barkov.

Rangers decline.

They're not paying assets for anyone signed less than 3 seasons. They'll just sign Barkov as a UFA in a couple years.

I didn’t realize how in trouble the Panthers are. The Bob contract, losing Hoff and Dadonov, and only 2 years left on the bargain Huberdeau and Barkov contracts.....
