No... 100% no. Columbus doesn’t want anything to do with Baertchi. We also don’t exactly have the cap room to take him unless some salary goes back the other way.

VAN shouldn't pay anything to get rid of Baertschi, Sutter, or Benn; they all have expiring deals in 2021. If they're going to pay to get rid of contracts it NEEDS to be Eriksson, Beagle or Roussel.

You get a 2nd for a slighty overpaid but still useful NHL player?

Beartchi isn’t an NHL player.... he spent most of the season in the AHL and rightly so, there’s a reason Eriksson was playing and he wasn’t on the roster. He wouldn’t even make the Columbus who has less of a need for wings then Vancouver does.

Thats a completely uninformed POV, hes been in greens doghouse for no reason but the last 4 seasons hes been above .5 PPG

And you don’t think he’d end up in torts dog house too with an xGA of 14.7 and 32.9 (not coming the 6 games he played this year) also in his career he’s given up 24 more goalies then he’s scored and was only positive 1 time in his career. He may have more then .5 PPG over his last 85 games (over 3 years) but hes also given up 50 goals and been on the ice for 45, that’s a -5.

So from my point of view, he’s meh offensively and pretty bad defensively. He isn’t a top 6 forward and doesn’t play well defensively. Columbus doesn’t want him as he’d be in torts dog house in less then 3 games.

Hjorth is a really decent defensive prospect. Jarmo likes him and he has tons of time to develop. That trade really doesn’t help the Jackets. The 2nd is good but the CBJ would be looking for immediate help. Baertschi is not going to move the needle
