U have better 2C option than Domi? He is probably the best available one in the ligue. Eichel would love that team winning now effort.

I mean they would still be bad with Domi. They don’t need to trade 8th overall who will most likely be better than Domi.

Statistically speaking, he most likely wont. Long shot to be just as a good, not to mention better.

He’s only on the fourth line because he wants to play center and Julien wants to make sure that his four lines are good. Domi played really well last night, but Weal and Weise were holding him back. He looked hungry for real, especially in the first period. I don’t think he’s worth 8th overall, but packaged with something he definitely is. I think Domi is worth a pick around 12-15 for real.

Idk in my opinion he’s maybe worth a 2021 first that’s top 10 protected.

I mean I prefer certainty. The 2021 Draft looks way less deep/good than the current one. If that pick is somehow after 15 than the habs would take a L. I’d rather keep Domi tbh unless we package him for 8th overall.

I think teams have gotten much better drafting recently with more advanced statistics available to be able to better judge players performance levels. Over the last 10 drafts 2010 - 2019 for picks 8 and 9 overall 20 player sample size. I would take 14 of those 20 over Domi. Now the players in the 18 - 19 draft have limited to no sample size in the NHL so they are mostly on projection. If you take them out it is 10 of 16 which is still a good percentage and some of these players may still develop into better players than Domi but they do not project that way at this point. With most scouts saying this is a historically good draft I think it is statically fair to assume you will get a player better than Domi. How much better is in the margin of error and you will have to wait for 2 - 3 years likely before this player will surpass Domi.

The Sabres need a 2c, but it’s been reported that the Peguals want to be significantly under the cap this year. For being as bad as the Sabres to they have a bad prospect pool, they need to grab a productive forward that will produce on an ELC In the 2021-2022 season.

Only way that happens is if they trade Joki for a a young C that breaks out or if Mittelstadt gets his sh*t together.

They Will probably use Marcus Johansson or Kahun at center. Cozens will start off as the 3rd line center.
Maybe if Wennberg is bought out they can sign him for a cheap price. He’s still young enough.
