Domi, maybe not, but Fleury is the RD you guys need. Your right side next year would be a lot better. IMO, if he develops well, he may be able to handle second pairing minutes.

Why MTL do this trade tho ? Paying 3.5M for a 4C and trading a better player in Domi for Kapanen ... doesn’t make senses

IKR Domi is way better than both forwards as well. Idk why we would deal a good/younger 2nd line center with a 70 point upside/50 point floor to our arguably our biggest rival for 2 good 3rd liners that we don’t need in the first place. If I’m Toronto I do this and block Bergevin’s number while 1) negotiating a new extension with Domi or 2) flipping him for a much needed defensively sound RD.

Fleury is a bottom pairing RD right now and the leafs dont need bottom pairing RD's they need top end ones. the Leafs have plenty of depth guys, they have a can play on the 2nd pairing guy in Holl already and he is significantly better than Fleury

Gaudreau to MTL doesn’t work with picks, it will be around Drouin or Domi + Poehling + something ( not a 1st or good prospect ). MTL aren’t in win mode now, they won’t trade future for 2 years of Gaudreau

Then there is no trade to be done. Flames are in win now mode so acquiring someone like Domi would be around sending futures back
