If Minnesota wins the first overall pick, I don't see them passing on Lafreniere, and this deal could potentially hurt both teams, with Buffalo paying a premium for Lafreniere, and giving up two prime assets to do it and Minny giving up a future franchise player.
I do understand the logic behind the trade, as Minny needs a centerman and thats Cozens, but Lafreniere is one of those rare wingers who can drive his own line, and he'll be the face of the franchise for whomever gets him.
Personally, I have a bad feeling that as Karma for a ridiculous lottery system, Lafreniere will end up going to Pittsburgh, Toronto or Edmonton....and granted that looks good on paper in the short term, the price will be those teams being in cap trouble (again for some of those teams) very soon
