You know I dont think the detroit deal is so crazy. Mantha for schmaltz isn't a bad base to start with. Manthas inability to stay healthy has me worried really. If they did sell him I think they can do better than this deal though.

He can crack our lineup and is one year removed from ~40pts. He had two knee surgeries this year and if you watched our games, you'd be able to see the explosiveness just wast there. He is back and playing well. I am not interested in trading him as a salary dump.

Also, if he can't crack the lineup, why is he on your 2nd pair? Are you claiming that Hagg is better than Ghost because he's playing right now? If so, feel free to make an offer for him. It's probably close to what you are offering.

Semi-healthy... he came back from a knee procedure and still wasn't right. Then the team rolled off 10 in a row and the lineup didnt change. That brings us to the shut down and a second knee cleaning. Since the start of camp, his movement has been noticeably better. I'm not interested in the cap dump. There is money to save other places (JVR, Raffl). If there is a fair trade hockey trade out there, I'd look, but not this.

'health is a liability' No it isnt. He injured his hand fighting twice, and was slew footed by Muzzin. There is no underlying injury history, dude's just unlucky. Mantha is arguably the most talented guy on Detroit, Schmaltz would not be. simple reason for an easy decline. If we are trading Mantha, it is for an asset, or collection of assets that have the potential to be worth more than Mantha is now.

I'm not sure exactly. Detroit would want keller for mantha and arizona would say no we'll give you schmaltz so Idk where you go from there. If they moved mantha for a center I think there are better trade partners.
