It might be a hot take, but there's an argument for
1. Svechnikov
2. Hughes
3. Dahlin
4. Tkachuk

a hot take indeed. What has Dahlin dropping? And I would normally assume that if Dahlin falls after Hughes, Hughes would get 1st overall

It's not that Dahlin is dropping. He's still incredibly good. It's just that I think Hughes is going to be better, and I think Svechnikov is going to be one of the best Wingers in the league in the next few years. There's definitely an argument that Dahlin is still the best player in the draft class, even if I personally don't necessarily agree.

Dahlin was on pace to hit a 100 career points as a teenage defenseman.. he broke Potvin’s and Orr’s records he still goes first overall.

As I said, it's not a reflection on him. He's a fantastic young Dman. I think Hughes has the potential to be the best Dman in the league in the next few years, and I think Svechnikov will be one of the best wingers in the league. If you still think Dahlin goes 1st, that's totally fair, I just disagree.

I agree with that, though Hughes is a solid defender in his own right. The Sabres need to start using Dahlin more all situations, especially on the PK imo. He's going to be that huge minutes all situations guy, I don't know why they don't try it more, it's not like he could make the PK worse.

Completely agree. Krueger just didn’t trust Dahlin this year. But he had Zach Bogosian play 20+ minutes a night, which cost them a playoff spot.

I think that's a guy who needs to be playing Thomas Chabot minutes next year. Okay maybe not the 35-40 minutes Chabot was hitting some nights, but like 23-25 minutes in all situations. Give him the reigns and let him go. An easy night for him should be like 21 minutes. There are guys who just thrive with that kind of responsibility. Like prime Duncan Keith.

If they trade Ristolainen I think you will see that. But I think he’s unfortunately staying because Krueger loves him.
