Kerfy isn't the #2C you're looking for, especially if Scheifs isn't ready for the start of next season

I take this if I'm the Leafs. They lose depth but get a young guy to play 3C that still has potential, a 2nd rounder and some much needed cap space to open up options for blueline help.

No incentive for the jets to do that pens trade. They aren’t taking on that much cap for virtually no reason. Lowry is a playoff beast and is one of the only guys who helps out the d and has size. Really good for making up for some of our smaller pairings

The leafs trade doesn’t make too much sense either. Roslovic is doing very well right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets c time soon. Could become the true 2c we are looking for. Kerfoot isn’t a 2c and Johnson is nice but not worth that package imo

So neither trade really pushes the needle enough for the jets for them to pull the trigger

Hörnqvist, Bjugstad ($1M ret), 4th for Lowry, 3rd

I rally like watching Lowry, but he is not offensive enough for the Pens 3rd line. They already have a $3.5M physical 4th liner, I am not sure a $3M addition to that is best.

They shed Horny and Bjugstad for roughly 4 mil in salary for 1 year. What they would have paid for jugs anyway, and you are complaining.............
The penguins save 4 mil in cap space and don't have to worry about horny for the next 2 years as well.

I'm sure they can move Lowry if need be. There are no clauses there.
