Pilut is gone to the KHL and as a LHD would not come close to making the Leafs' lineup. He has no value to the Leafs. Montour is the opposite of the type of D that the Leafs' should be looking for (which means Dubas is probably interested) and Montour and Reinhart will probably cost more against the cap than Marner does.

im not convinced strome is worth anything more than a 2nd alone. not great back checker. one year above 50 points which was this year with panarin. idk i keep saying it, its going to be buyers remorse whoever trades for him.

Lol so bitter.
None of those trades are "laughable"
Marner isn't worth much more than that. The dude was invisible last night so enjoy that
Strome isn't worth more than a 2nd and its pretty generous that is a early 2nd in a good draft.
Arizona trade is whatever they save a bit of cap and add a very serviceable mid 6 guy just depends on where you put team needs but fine trade value.

So get off your high horse not everything in Toronto is sooooo good

The leafs trade does not work for either team. Not nearly enough value for Marner on the Leafs end and Marner destroys the Sabres cap situation moving forward. This team is already a million over due to cap penalty. With next years likely cap penalty for Dahlins bonus they would have 12 million to sign 7 roster players including 4 of the top 6 dman (dahlin and jokiharju among them)

I think dahlin signs close to chabot 8x 7.5, joker and Borgen sign bridge and Sabre’s have ton of dman ready to make jump in 2022 to take McCabe spot. Worst case buy out Okposo deal in 2022 and bring up rookie.

For all leaf fans hate to break it to you guys but he is just not worth that crazy contract. I think Reinhart and montour could be both signed for under that contract. The leaf team would be better off with those then with just marner. Pilut is just an extra good d prospect. We have a ton so if u prefer RHD we could swap it out.

I hate to break it to you, but you arnt getting fans to agree trade marner for anything youd like because being 1 million over paid doesnt halve his value

If the Leafs trade Marner there has to be a decent D coming back, period. Montour is like Barrie without the offense. The Leafs already have plenty of small D who can't play the defensive side of things.

Montour isn't that good. 3rd pairing guy, 4th D on a bad enough team. Pilut is a 24 year old who hasn't played 50 games, and hasn't even cracked 10 total points in the NHL. Not a prospect, just a spare D at best. Then that leaves the only piece of considerable value, and the only piece that I'd even want on my team, but he's not worth half as much as Marner, and that's reinhart. he's a year older, is about to be overpaid on his next contract as well, and has a career high of 65 points. Marner may be overpaid by 1.5-2M, but he's a 94 point scoring, penalty killing 22 year old who isn't worth giving up for this dumpster of a return

94 points as a 22 year old. Overpaid by 1.5-2M, but not so bad that we should trade him for a guy who isn't a point per game player, a 3rd pair D, and a guy who wouldn't even be our 8th D.
A center who scored 59 points in 70 games is worth more than a second rounder, in a market where plenty of teams need second line centres.
Arizona isn't giving up a starter for an underperforming, overpaid 29 year old third line winger

Not everyone wants to give up great assets to your mismanaged little peewee team

Chabot is at 8. If Dahlin signs at 8 then Jokiharju if he gets a team friendly bridge at 3 and Borgen team friendly bridge at say 1.25. That leaves you 250,000 to fill 5 roster spots. At least 1 decent salary needs to be moved. Reinhart or Oloffson. If you plan to have anything other than Ulmark and ElC for goalie you would need to clear additional space for a veteran.

What a joke of a response.
Whatever about marner I'm not saying that it's a deal toronto would take but you have a 1RW replacement a top 4 dman not a bottom pairing and pilut who would be a solid cheap 3rd pairing with upside for more. But again not saying I would take it if I was toronto butnita not laughable it just needs to add.
Strome had one 50pt year that came from playing with panarin so 2nd is generous to say the least. And MoJo is more than an over paid 3rd liner he functioned as a 2c this year and although that was dumb to put him there he had ok. Looked great when he played wing and dominated the post season last year so stop cherry picking numbers lol.

Let's talk about perwee teams if toronto can finally win a playoff series

Agreed. My point is that these trades aren't laughable. Everytime there is a sabres post the players get undeservedly **** on. Besides the marner trade these are more than fair. Marner needs to be added on for sure.

Or trade okoposo since he will only have one more year left it wouldn’t be that hard. Or can buy him out. We have a lot of rookies on verge of playing. Including top goalie prospect UPL, couple dman. And top pick on this team.

Won't be easy to move Okposo contract he makes 6 per and is worth 2 per. On a flat cap it will be very hard to move bad contracts with term we will have to attach a significant asset to get someone to bite. Only get 1 million in cap savings for 21 - 22 season if you buy him out so no help with the cap by doing that
