I can't see the Flyers paying that much for 1 or 2 years of Gaudreau. Plus they are very stacked at LW. There only position of need is 3RW if Patrick isn't healthy. Even that's not a dire need when they have Allison to play or resign Grant. I think they should target Smith in NSH for that position though.

You make that trade knowing you can negotiate with Gaudreau and extend him.

Pretty sure the Flyers are jumping ship from the JVR deal the second Seattle allows them to.

Fair enough, but the Flyers have Giroux, Farabee, Lindblom, and Raffl after JVR. Still no need for Gaudreau.

Why is it written in stone that Giroux has to play LW? Legitimately asking. He's a right shot and has played all three forward positions in the past as I recall. The proposal above also has the Flyers sending Voracek the other way, who is their 1st line RW. I would imagine that if the Flyers decided they wanted to trade for Johnny, having that list of LWs wouldn't stop them.

Habs decline unless a 1st rounder is coming back ... Alzner only has a year left on his deal and can be bought out or sent to Laval.

No reason for Philadelphia to add Morgan Frost, Phil Myers, and downgrade a 1st round pick to a 2nd for a marginal upgrade from Voracek to Gaudreau.

He's got 2 years, unless you meant after this season.

Devils probably decline. Although Parsons' run with USA hockey made him relatively attractive, goalies are a crapshoot. not enough to take on a bad contract right now regardless of the size or salary retained.

Giroux had his best success at the LW position when he potted 102 points a few years ago, so they kept him there once Coots showed he was a 1C. Now with the signing of Hayes, and having Patrick and Grant, he just doesn’t need to be a center man.

In all honesty, I like Gaudreau, but I seriously wouldn’t give up this much for him. I think you get better results without him than paying all this for him.

well, yes after this season, considering he's no longer playing or with the team.
