What? That’s literally what I just argued. There is no way I would trade Eichel for this years 1OA.

Sorry, that was supposed to be for HockeyFan989

Horrible trade for Buffalo. Why is everyone’s fix for Buffalo to trade the superstar away and not build around him? Which, by the way, should be easy. It’s not hard to build a playoff team.

I just question the asset to cancer window, I would choose to build also, but with track record of ownership and how short the leash is on new regime of coach and gm, this offseason might be the greatest window of adding hyped up pieces to distract the fans your headed for another rebuild. Obviously I would want some exempt top prospects along with lafreniere and some more picks. Center is the toughest position to fill, but buffalo can’t compete til they draft better, so more resources to the draft department is needed and a no brainer at 1 will buy sometime. It would just be a start of rebuild. Buffalo has bigger issues in ownership and upper management to solve before any success on ice.

Sorry, I disagree. They have the two hardest pieces to acquire in Dahlin and Eichel. You build around them, not trade away pieces and rebuild because previous management was incompetent.

I agree if current management proven credible, mine is more my attempt to predict future, over a perfect scenario without egos or frustrations.

No he won’t. Eichel is top 10 in the NHL. Probably better actually. He’s also a center and has a bigger impact on the game.

I would. No question. Laffy will be better plus he’s 5 years younger
Not biased here, have no clue where hes gonna play, just what I think.

I respect your opinion, I just disagree. I think Eichel is the most underrated player in the NHL because he’s the best player on a horrible team that plays in a small market that nobody cares about. If Jack plays in Toronto instead of Matthews, I think he’s considered the 2nd Or 3rd best player in the league

Based off what? Eichel as a 1C on an awful team has increased his scoring output every year to now where he was on pace for 94pts. Not only that C is so much more important than winger that in all honesty when making a list of the best players in the world how many C get named before a winger gets named, 6 7? On top of that outside of McDavid going into their draft year Eichel would have been the top pick in any of the last 10 drafts. I’m not even a Sabre’s fan but it is easy to recognize how good Eichel is even on an awful team where every opposing team is doing whatever they can stop him and not caring about what other players are doing.

I’m not saying Eichel is bad at all, just betting on Laffy’s potential and the 5 xtra years he has on Eichel..

Eichel is on a bad team yes.. but they have decent players around him and he practically runs the team meaning he has all the chances to succeed something a lot of people overlook

McDavid and McKinnon r the only people I would have going over Eichel..
not saying Laffy is on “Mc” skill level but at least Eichel par with 5 years on him

Buff isn’t actually a bad team, hell their one of the best in the NHL the first half then crash every year. They have decent pieces as well
McDavid, Crosby, McKinnon, then Draisaitl R the only centres I rate ahead of him

Just very high on Laffy”s potential and the 5 xtra years he has that I wouldn’t do it
Personal preference

This doesn't get Eichel, I'm assuming from a Jets perspective if it was the 1st overall pick(Lafreniere) it'd also need to have Heinola, Roslovic and a couple more pieces at least, seriously Eichel is so damn good, I wish the Jets could get him for a return like this.. Lol

Laffy is 18. Draft in 2020. Eichel is 23. Drafted in 2015

If current management is that inept (they are inept but what you are describing is unfixable inept) the last thing they should be trying to do is play 3D chess and have a vision of how the team will look 5 years down the road. Just play your stars in Eichel and Dahlin
