Lines for Game 3

Description
Hawks need to shake things up and get some life back into the team. There was a real lack of a sense of urgency in game 2. Crawfod looked slow in both of the first two games, so I'm saying we start Subban game 3. Obviously not all his fault, but there definitely were some goals that we needed him to stop. The defense needs to be shaken up, coverage has been horrible. Boqvist had a tough game and maata hasn't looked great either IMO. As for forwards, the Toews line needs to stay together and Cat-Dach-Kane needs to stay together. Jumble up the bottom 6. Bench Nylander game 3, he looked horrible and at least 1 of the goals was his fault. Strome had a tough game too but I'm not gonna go as far as benching him here. The Quinville decision was absolutely horrible and I won't defend it. Sikura, Hagel, or Kurashev all should have gone in before him. Basically was Colliton saying we're double shifting Kane all game. Luckily we will have the last change the next 2 games, so we should be able to keep the Strome line away from Mcdavid and Draitisle as much as possible. Toews line needs to be against Mcdavid at all times and either Dach line or Kampf line on Drai. The PP also could use some shaking up. They pretty much sat Kubalik in the slot the whole time which I'm not a fan of and I think Boqvist should be on the #1 PP over Kieth. I won't give up hope that we can win this series, but adjustments definelty need to be made.

Tough call. I dont hate the idea of giving Kurashev some ice time, but I also think "the kids" need to get punched in the face like they just were and allowed a chance to respond. Its how you develop as a player. Id go back to game 1 lines with Cags. Then game 4 make a switch of you have too.

Benching Nylander is fine for a game, but I don't think benching Boqvist or Strome is the answer. Maata was just as bad as Boqvist was. And without Strome that moves Kampf up the th e3rd line and makes Carpenter the 4th center. Really hurts our depth down the middle and takes away our ability to score really at all with our bottom 6. I wouldn't be opposed to Beaudan playing in game 3, however at this point Carlson should probably go in before him. Beaudan looked fantastic in the 1 game that he played in the regular season and we can play him without burning his ELC

The Nylander turnover on the 3rd goal was a direct result of a hospital pass from Kane. It was slow and through the middle of the ice and there 3 oilers surrounding him, there was no chance of him escaping the area with the puck. Strome was also horrendous. Lets bench him as well then? Or are we only biased against Nylander?

I don't see how benching Strome helps us at all. We can get the same impact if not more from Kurashev, sakura, or Hagel over Nylander. Kampf as the 3rd center over Strome takes away all the offense from the bottom 6. Strome was bad, but so was Boqvist and no one is calling for him to be benched. Bench Nylander, don't bench Nylander I don't really care. IMO the biggest change that needs to happen in Subban in over Crow

I like these lines but I'm of the belief that they should probably stay the course and do whatever they can to get 8-19-20 going again. They've done a great job shutting down everyone not named Connor McDavid (or James Neal I guess) at even strength, so my hope is that having last change for Games 3 and 4 will help get them the matchups they want more often with him.

Swapping Maatta for Carlsson is interesting -- watching McDavid just fly around him was absolutely excruciating and Carlsson might be able to neutralize that a bit. But my mans also scored a goal lol and muh playoff experience of course, so I wouldn't mind keeping him in the lineup.

Agree with swapping Maatta for Carlsson. Interesting idea for replacing Nylander with Kurashev, I really like that move but I don’t expect it to happen.
