Toronto trade was proposed by a Leafs fan here: https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/346524?post_id=1602666

Can't say I'm the biggest fan of moving Calvert but this would be my moves based on the proposed trade.

I'd pass on that without much hesitation, tbh.

seems like a downgrade for the Avs tbh. We dont need either of Johnsson or Dermott and we get rid of 2 important physical players. The picks are nice but its not worth it to downgrade the team while were trying to win

Doesn't help the Leafs cap or on the ice.

I honestly wouldn't mind this trade if we could save the 2020 2nd rounder.

Adding Calvert would absolutely help you on the ice. Your weak bottom 6 is a big reason why a team like Columbus can outwork the Leafs, and Calvert would change that in a hurry.

That 2nd rounder is the best piece in the trade going to Colorado. Without it there's no deal.

Strange, when the Leafs don't win, the reason given is they are outworked.. Other teams don't win, and rarely the "outworked" reason is given. You really think the Leafs lost on Sunday because they were outworked or are you giving just a standard answer?

"Outworked" might be the wrong word, but Columbus definitely got the better of Toronto's depth lines.

There's a reason why the Leafs fan who made the original proposal involving acquiring Calvert and Zadorov called his AGM "Better balance next year"

Fine by me. I'm happy enough to keep Calvert and get a 2nd + 3rd for Zadorov elsewhere. Calvert is a warrior and a big reason why Colorado is so hard to beat. The team literally only lost once this season with a healthy lineup, and even that loss was in OT.

That's probably what you should do then. Just doesn't make sense for the Leafs, imo. The player swap alone is pretty lateral so I just don't see the reason for the Leafs to do that.

He plays on the right side

we dgaf. We would just keep Dermott and play him on the right side

The leafs have ZERO interest in this. Zadarov is not on Dubas's list
