a first round pick for 1 year of Brandon Saad? Why in the world?

Because its Brandon Saad and he is a beast in the playoffs?

It would also be the starting price for a rental of his caliber.

What are you basing that on?

He had one really good playoff run like six years ago

He's been fine in the playoffs I guess but not enough to tout that as the reason to get him

I don't about "starting" and I also don't know if you'll be getting any better offers.

Saad ROR Perron would probably be the best line in the playoffs. I like Sanford, but acquiring Saad would give them the ability to have 3 very good lines.

Yeah, the starting point for Saad is a first round pick, probably more if we retain.

Hawks reject. Can get a better prospect due to the retained salary and because it's a division rival trade

I'm sure both teams reject the CHI idea. And Allen isn't fething a 2nd, I think.

Wild won't give you a 2nd in any draft for Allen. Allen has 1 year left on his contract and has battled inconsistency his entire career, plus taking him only helps Blues with their cap problems. Wild could be interested in Allen but I'm thinking a 4th round pick or maybe a 2021 3rd.

I just figured with how the season he had and how shaky the Wilds goaltending is that they'd be willing to give a 2nd for him. I'd say you're probably right though. 2021 3rd is fair.

You did notice that was a 2020 1st round pick, right?

I don’t think it really matters, I’m just saying no way we get less than a first in any trade. You should agree, seeing as you gave up a first for him. Also, we can still retain on him and trade him for next season.

I'm not exactly sure what your argument is to be completely honest. I gave up a 2020 1st and a B prospect center with upside in Kaspick for 1 year of Saad retained 50% which I believe is appropriate value.
