I think they might become buyers

Description
Some things that are out of the usual here:
- Dubois needs a bridge, he's not an established 1C yet.
- Gavrikov has looked excellent, he might be worthy of getting a long contract already. I'm copying the Andersson contract here.
- Bemstrom, Foudy are mainstays.
- I've liked how Wennberg has looked the last few games, it might gain the attention of some teams in trade

OK Jackets fans... if Anderson remains a scratch, his value will drop. We can't infinitely expect a 2nd or even an offer sheet if he isn't playing. At this point, it's better in general to take what you can get, and here a high 3rd isn't all too low.

You could probably sign saad for closer to 5x4.5 mil. Hawks have no interest in Boone Jenner though

Good ideas, bad execution imo. Saad would be a huge mistake
Gavrikov is great but dont think hes earned that contract yet. Probably 3x3ish
Never sell low on players, trading Anderson wouldnt be smart
FLA wants to clear salary so doubt they take on Wennberg

If we had the cap room he would be an amazing 4c with Caggs and Hagel on the flank

The thing is... i don't think a 3rd is a low sell at this point. It's just a myth on this website that he is worth a 2nd, and no matter how poorly he performs, that label sticks. This kind of seals it... he can't crack the regular lineup (correct me if I'm missing something, an injury or something), and as such his value will drop move. This season was an absolute failure. If he won't be played on the roster, why hang on to him expecting a return that won't come?

You'd have to explain the Ottawa deal better. Why are they trading for Dubinsky???

thing is, even if he comes back and doesnt do much in his first 25ish games, i think they could still get a 3rd from a team. and if he returns to the kind of player he was last year hes worth way more than a 3rd. Just dont see the point in forcing a deal to make a deal

NSH doesn't really need/want Santini it seems, but they don't want to trade him for a player they don't want/need with an extra year. They pass and trade Santini somewhere else or wait for his contract to expire.

As a Detroit fan I'd take that deal.

Anderson is going to garner attention. He will get good offers. Players his size, skating ability, and his shot are hard to find. Jarmo apparently was looking at acquiring Trochek at the deadline but Anderson’s name came up and Jarmo said no. That goes to show you the value Columbus has on him.

He gets that because that's the bare minimum return we'd expect if someone offer sheeted him.
