Why would we think that Nutivaara can handle deployment with Rielly, and on his offside?

I'd rather lose Edmonton's 3rd but this does make sense.

That often happens on the third pairing. But that doesn't mean that he can play with Rielly - especially on his offside. Rielly went up against 90th percentile QoC. Nutivaara went up against 27th percentile QoC. Nutivaara heads off the ice when elite opponents go on. Rielly heads on the ice when elite opponents go on. He is currently a healthy scratch. In this scenario a team with a massive, massive shortage of RHD is trading their only roster RHD - and one who plays in the top-4 with Muzzin - and is paid less than Nutivaara - being traded for a more expensive LHD who plays 3rd pairing when he is not healthy scratched. So, why would we think that Nutivaara can handle deployment with Rielly, on his offside? I mean people can make whatever trades they want, and it doesn't matter what we think. But, seeing as I don't see any reason why Nutivaara would be on any team's top-4 as a regular, I am wondering what it is that he brings that makes someone else believe he can.

We have listed here - two LHDs playing on their offside - in the top-4, despite neither of them having shown at this point they can do that. Then we have a third pairing of two talented young prospects who are both small, not strong defensively, and have already shown that they were a tire fire when together at the NHL level. And have traded 4 very capable players in Holl, Kapanen, Kerfoot, and Johnsson in order to make the team's D-core significantly worse.

Columbus needs a center, also we don’t afford the cap difference between the 2 sides. Why would Columbus move Texier (who hasn’t really played much center in the NHL) when we need centers?

Wings pass, not helping Toronto lower their cap for a guy like Kerfoot if it costs Wings their 3rd. They'd still be bad with or without Kerfoot so makes no difference

So you get a better player, a 3rd and take on 1.6m in cap difference (which isn’t even worth a 3rd if it was retention or a dump) yet you somehow find a way to take issue....

He's played RD as a top-4 guy before. That said, I don't think he's the sort of defensive-focused guy Toronto would want... and the Jackets aren't going to want any part of that proposal anyways so long as Texier is in it.
