Maatta looks awful right now. Chicago has to give more for the Sabres to take that deal.

Costs more, longer term. You’d have to include a forward of actual value, and you don’t have one you’re willing to give up.

MoJo's a decent middle 6 forward though injury riddled and maybe/slightly overpaid. Olli Määttä's a decent second pair d, better off playing on the third pair and also overpaid with more term left. The only thing he has going for him is his age but he has yet to improve as a reliable solid second pair defensive d man. Calvin de Haan's decent, although with his injury history that's often with his shoulder and the term and price attached to him, I also don't see the Sabres doing a one for one with him for Johansson. I think the only way this happens is if the Hawks add a significant pick or a somewhat good prospect.

i think 8th overall for Cirelli is pretty fair on its own. wouldn't be smart for Buf to give that plus Thommer and Mitts

Maatta doesn't look awful...not sure what you're watching. He's a very solid 3rd liner

You don’t pay $4 million to a third pairing defenseman.

He has a $650K buyout so low risk, plus he's still only 25 years old. He can certainly play 2nd line but hes a very solid 3rd pairing.

That’s per year for 4 years.

And that's a lot? Doesn't even equate to one roster spot
