My bad, I’m not sure where I thought he was moved... maybe I m just too used to seeing Dermott trades in agm’s.

I think if you move nylander it has to be for a clear upgrade in D. Even then, there are few players I would move him for.

One injury from Marincin lacing them up doesn’t sound like a great position,

Marino for Nylander

No chance that the Pens could bring in a $7M forward without sending out cap. How about flipping it to Pettersson+ instead of Marino?

They have tons of wingers and no rhd for the future. So a 1 for 1 swap On wingers with an rhd puts them in a better spot. I don’t see Johnsson as a necessary piece in the trade.

Unless you plan on building around Rackell it seems worth consideration. I don’t see how it helps the leafs when they have marner Kapanen and Hyman and an entire stable of young LHW.

Personally I would much rather have Dermott nylander and Lilly over Marino and Rackell.

Giving up two D for one and then downgrading nylander doesn’t seem like very wise asset management.

Rakell is worth more than Liljegren. Maybe not to the leafs, but 100% to the Ducks. If I'm the leafs I dont even consider trading Lily. Hes a very good prospect at a position of need

I 100% agree with you saying you would rather Lily Dermott and Nylander over Marino and Rakell. I look at the this way Nylander>Rakell and Lily/Dermott>Marino (Individually Marino is better than both but I would take a potential top 4 pairing of the future over one Dman) It would be very poor asset management, which is something the Leafs cant really afford to keep doing

An A is not easy to get thats why they are so valuable

I was saying there's no current A prospects tho as there are no non-NHL level defenseman that is obviously a top pairing guy.

Not sure where you're getting dermott from, he was never in any trades. The idea of this was Lily+Nylander for Marnio+Rakell. While I like the Leafs side more, it saves cap and gets a better player in a position of need and keeps the RW position still very strong with Marner/Rakell/Kap

You described an A prospect as "without a doubt top pairing" and said Liljegren was a 2nd pairing guy. Byrams probably the closest for me but all these guys seem a lot closer to top 4 than top 2

Yeah. I see Lily as more than likely a second pair guy. I never called any of the above A's just said in my eyes they are the closest, top 2 would be Lundkvist and Byram to me
