I love that first line. I love that second line. I love that first pairing. But I hate the depth on this team I just made. Sure we have the big guns but the depth gets you to the place where the big guns win the cup.

I can guarantee you one thing. There is no package that San Jose can put together for Eichel. Not one. They just don’t have the pieces.

Let me help you. The package for Jack Eichel begins with Hertl, Meier, Merkley, Dahlen, and a 1st rounder. It continues with Okposo going to San Jose. What’s that you say? Never going to happen? Gee, that stinks.

If sabres traded Eichel it would be for a full blown rebuild, so it would be based purely off futures, and I don't think SJS has any future pieces good enough unless you want to give up endless first rounders and prospects
