Nah we need Lafreniere . Kakko didn't blow off the hinges to show anything like we don't need a star like Lafreniere.

Kings deal both sides have agreed too.

Oilers deal is pretty good dumping a bad d for a backup who can be an asset in the playoffs for EDM.

Devils deal is pretty fair I think they'd definitely accept if it was EDM 2nd in 2022.

Lias anderson cant keep a job in the NHL Pavel. Zacha was a .5 pt/g player this year and is one of the leagues top penalty killers.

Well that's tying in the fact he's blocked by 3 Centers but I think he'd fit in NJ

So is Mikey McLeod, only he doesnt have a terrible relationship with his club, and Im not gonna expect the devils to get a 2nd line RFA center for him + a 3rd. Also, are we just going to pretend that Lias wasnt beat out by greg mckegg? Understandable considering Greg's allstar pedigree. One of those other Cs is also a 20 year old Chytil who has had either simmilar or worse numbers than zacha at this stage in their respective careers.

Devils pass.

So is Zacha not available then or just not a Lias Andersson guy?

I think everybody on the devils is available right now, short of Nico, Blackwood, and Hughes. I just think the move has to be demonstrably beneficial for the devils. Meaning, it probably will cost another proven NHL player, and one that wont be too old or in too much of a decline when the devils should be decent in 2-3 years, and onward. I certainly dont think they are foaming at the mouth to get rid of him for a less proven asset.

I personally think players don't stop developing at 21 as Lias still has upside but rather tell me if NYR could offer anything of interest for Zacha?

I meant that lias was unproven. whoever they were planning on giving up would need to be somebody that was proven, yet not old enough where they would be in decline in a few years.

Ok makes sense. Probably wouldn't wanna send him here anyways eh? Zacha would be a very good pickup.

I'm curious to know if you see how contradictory your two statements are?

Kris Russell and Marc Staal are pretty much in the same boat now. Here though, one is a dump that you don't have to pay to get rid of, and the other is a dump that you get paid to take on?

Andersson was beat out by Howden and the year before by Chytil (when Hayes was still on the roster). Both of whom were 1st round picks and are as good if not better prospects. Chytil might not have put up the best scoring numbers this season, but I would be absolutely shocked if Chytil doesn't develop into a top 6 center in the next couple of years. Maybe even develop into a top line center in a relatively short amount of time. I also believe that Howden will develop into a well rounded 20 plus goal scoring top 9 center.

Andersson is going to play in the SHL next season and if healthy will probably put up tremendous scoring numbers. Add to that he's considered a very good "hounding" defensive center in his scouting report, the Rangers should receive a trade offer more indicative of the top 7 draft pick where he was selected.

Howden developing into a 20 goal scorer has me rolling on the floor laughing. Thank you. I needed that. And Andersson putting up good numbers in the SHL won’t mean he should receive a first round pick in a trade

Russell would be in the pressbox and solely acquired to make cap work for the trade. Staal would probably eat top pair minutes with Doughty.

Ha. So he's going from playing 17:39/game on a team with little to nothing on the left side, to playing 25+ on a team with little to nothing on the left side? Bjornfoot and Clague likely get a look next year as well? Wouldn't it be cheaper to just sign a veteran UFA, instead of taking on a cap dump?

He's simply there to shelter the young guys. Kings have the cap space and a cap dump is not quite what this is. Expiring as well. They don't have to do it and who knows if they would but NYR and LAK fans have agreed to it and haven't opposed it. But go off.

Tough home crowd... Howden has put up very good scoring numbers though out his development and has been good enough defensively to stick in the NHL his first two seasons. Maybe he didn't score in the play in round, but it took 2-3 highlight reel saves to keep him from having a goal.

Howden looked even better at wing at the end of the season and if NYR is stacked at center, the 6'3 - 200 lbs 22 year old could also develop into a 20 plus goal scoring power forward as he fills out and gets stronger. I have a feeling you're going to be pleasantly surprised watching the player Howden develops into over the next year or two.

You might be right about a team not giving up a 1st round pick for Andersson. Teams usually tend not to trade 1st round picks for players in Andersson's situation. But after Andersson has a good season in the SHL next season, the trade package Gorton is offered should be more indicative of the top 7 pick where he was selected. Though I tend to agree it won't include a 1st round pick.

I'm not "going off", I'm trying to present a logical argument as to why Kris Russell (as you said, expiring as well) being considered a cap dump and Marc Staal not being considered a cap dump makes very little sense. Not everything is a personal attack, friend.

Ok that's my bad. Staal is pretty equivalent to Russell on value and performance (edge to Staal ofc) the Henrik trade for Russell is 100% based on cap space. Neither team wants him just needs to be a cap casualty to facilite a trade. Staal actually has value to the Kings and would play for them. They are spending cap space they have an abundance of, getting a guy who will eat minutes, help shelter their youth, expiring contract, and nothing being moved to get him unlike a Leddy or Hjalmarsson deal occurs where they'd sacrifice assets for also aging dmen. Edmonton is "dumping" Russell because they do not have cap space to work with like LA.

For sure, I just think LA would be just as well off re-signing someone like Hutton (for cheaper) to play the same role, especially if they're just planning to start bringing up the young guys. Not a lot of point taking on salary as a rebuilder, especially if you're not getting some sort of asset back.

As much as I think moving Hank would be the smart move for NYR, especially cap-wise, I'd assume they either buy him out (saving $3 mil), or move Georgiev to avoid p1ss1ng off the guy who has been the face of the franchise for the past decade. Convincing him to waive to go anywhere doesn't seem like it'd be an easy task.

Since my beloved Ducklings won't be getting Laf, I do think I'd really like to see him end up in NY though (or at least East). You'd have a pretty dominant top 9 (if you can fill up the middle...maybe Chytil takes the next step?)

Oilers deal is pretty good dumping a bad d for a backup who can be an asset in the playoffs for EDM.

You should watch the Oilers, Russell has probably been their best defender in the series so far. He's far from a "bad d" especially when you're trading him for a below average goalie who has a higher cap hit AND adding assets from Edmonton's side.

We decline.

Yeah it's all speculation but we'll see. Ducks have so many forward prospects anyway, just need some RHD and boom you guys are back. Again Sorry for firing at ya, undeserved. Tough night ya knowtears of joy

Idk. I think Nurse has been great but let's just base values off 3 games!!!
