No Muzzin

Created by: Gordon_Bombay
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Aug. 5, 2020
Published: Aug. 5, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I don't think Marincin is the best D availabe, but I am not sure if Sandin is fit, as he did not play prior to the the real start and Marincin brings a similar skill set as Muzzin (not on the same level of course, but I think Rosen would be a better replacement for a more offensive minded D.

Unfortunately by the time Muzzin returns, CBJ will have eliminated the Leafs a long time ago. I was going to put money on CBJ too, now I'm really mad at myself🤬

Starting Marincin makes no sense. Sandin is 100% times better. Give the kid a chance. All that potential you never know what he could bring. Marincin is known. Remember CBJ playing Texier in the playoffs last year? BIG element for that team.

I don't disagree with you, but is he fit to play, as he did not play against the Habs.

Oh well if it's injury related I could tell you from VERY early experience, (Tony DeAngelo) Don't play him. But what I said is a moot point if it's injury-based and not decision-based.

Marincin is a very good PK guy so with Muzzin out that leaves a huge hole on the PK. Marincin is the only guy who can fill that.

CBJ PP is ass and the PK is more system based than individual skill. Whoever the plug in should be able to do fine.

Not sure I agree with that at all.

Rielly, Dermott, Ceci and Holl can all kill penalties but Marincin is better at it than those guys

Plus he's big and can skate so I think against Columbus he is less likely to be overwhelmed. Sandin could get pushed around a bit. If we were playing someone else then I'd say Sandin but for this series I would be less worried with Marincin getting sheltered minutes on the bottom pair. I'd also move Holl up to play with Rielly and move Ceci down and use them sparingly at 5v5. Dermott and Barrie looked really good last night, Columbus just couldn't get the puck from them.

Um... what? The guy skates like Bambi and even against a team that isn't as hard forechecking as CBJ he handles the puck like a live grenade. The collectedness (I know that's not a word) of Sandin is the main reason I'd choose him over Marincin. Actually, I wouldn't choose one or the other, I'd go with 7D considering how little Keefe is using his 4th.

Columbus would just try to run over sandin. Either way Looks like it's Marty with Barrie and Dermott with Holl next game. Also Marty can skate well for a big guy.
