Avs would need to add a little bit more for Saad. Also, highly doubt Chicago is interested in moving him prior to the TDL and only if Chicago is out of the playoff race. Chicago might also extend him between now and midway through the season for around $4.5M for 5 years. Saad is a critical piece in Chicago....highly underrated

i don't know about werner for backup. i'd much rather have an nhl tested backup.

not really sure about saad either. i'm a bit worried he's slowing down. he hasn't been a 50 point player in 3 seasons now.

for Zadorov? You wont get him at all if youre only offering a 3rd

I think Sakic will do what needs to be done with Johnson and his NMC in order to protect Graves instead. Cheap top 4 Dmen are too valuable.

Cole won't sign a 1 year deal as his last payday.

The goaltending situation is a bit ambitious here. Francouz is good, but he's never proven he can be a starter and it's a lot of responsibility given that we'd have a rookie backup.

You should just stick to Smith/Hajek/Rykov/Staal if that's the sort of offer you want to make.

after the way Staal, Smith, Deangelo and Trouba played, Rangers should look to shuffle their D big time for next year or they will have the same result as this year

I agree. But this Rangers fan doesn't seem to want to part with any value to get a good Dman in return, which is why I said he should just stick to the middling group they have now.

with how terrible the Rangers dcore was exposed last night, you would take the 2nd rounder and run.

Zadorov defending in transition against Carolina would have made a big difference for Rangers. Carolina's speed on the forecheck just killed the Rangers.

True but it still wouldn't fix our horrible offense

Its wild how many guys on this site lately have just been straight dogging value of players. We got guys saying Lehkonen is worth 2 2nd rounders, but compher is barely worth a 2nd.

Justin Braun and Brenden Dillon both got 2nds and additional draft picks who are UFAs at the end of this year....yet Zads who is an RFA cant get a 2nd? Banana land logic there when trade precedents, and multiple ones, are saying at the minimum he could get a 2nd and a 3rd

Yeah you look at Martinez getting 2 2nd's as a rental as well, along with Dillon and Braun as you mentioned. Zadorov also has 2 years of RFA status left so an acquiring team can QO him on a 1 year $3.2m deal and still retain his rights in 2021.

For perspective I had a look at previous drafts and it's amazing how few 2nd and 3rd rounders actually pan out into NHLers. As fans we often overvalue picks quite a bit, because really they have very little value compared to established NHLers.

Its just a reasonable trade value for him based on multiple 4/5 Dman being traded, when you consider RFA vs UFA status I am not sure how people can be up in arms for a 2nd and 3rd for him

The one thing i would say against his value is that the LHD market this offseason will be pretty saturated as there's quite a few LHD available in UFA along with plenty of LHD's on the trade block. Zadorov brings a pretty unique skillset with his size, skating, transition D, and hitting though, so hopefully that won't affect Zadorov's trade value too much.

I dont think it would. Plus there is always a recency bias in this league, so if he has a solid playoffs like he has had in the past 2, his value will be fine as more eyes will be on h im
