Ballsy, but I really like it. Puts tampa in a really tough spot, they likely match 1/2 and that’s okay. They’d likely match the Cirelli O/S. If that happened I’d just go after one of the stromes or Domi and we’d be almost as good lol and have a bit more cap. I think Laine would be the guy to go in this scenario.

Either way, both are still too much for them so they have to still trade others away.

As for Laine, I agree unless he accepts somewhere in the 8's...but it doesn't really matter in one sense for this year

It all comes down to whether or not he’s willing to take less to win, not sure he will be but that’s what it would take.

Yah...but as for this team, its three great lines plus a good 4th line. Cernak and Edmundson add the strength and size to the back end and Dell is there as a backup to play 25-30 games. I like this team a lot

Question. In 3 years when Lafreniere, Cirelli, and Cernaks contracts are up, how do you think you are going to pay them? You will have to trade two really good players for the cap they are going to want.

After 3 cups...lol...it won't matter

How I have this configured, I won't even have to trade anyone next year for cap reasons. But as the cap will go up in 4 years plus the 7M of Connor(hypothetically) it should be enough.

Maybe. I think you would still have to get someone traded. Haha 3 cups!!

I thought you can't trade a guy within one year of an offersheet?

We lose Edmundson to Seattle and Lowry to UFA....We have two guys primed in the AHL to fill those spots...thats an extra 4M right there...no worries

We could offer a NMC to both players for years 1 and 2...lol

No I mean the team that matches the offersheet can't trade that player for a year, like if Cirelli signed an offersheet and Tampa matched it I thought the Lightning can't trade Cirelli for a year, idk maybe I'm wrong about that but I thought that's how it works, don't see Cirelli leaving Tampa anyway though.

Yes..I think so but i'm not sure...I more meant that if it was the case that TBL could trade, we could offer a NMC if needed.

NMC are only available to players who reach their UFA eligible years. In this case both players are 4 years away from that. Therefore this does not work.
