Why is Carter Hutton playing over Marcus Hogberg?

Agreed. Ottawa isn't this guys main team though...

If Hutton comes in then Nilsson needs to go out. Hogberg needs playing time.

I wouldn't move Nilsson to play Hutton. Hogberg needs playing time for sure, but he also needs a guy who can potentially take the lion's share of the starts if Hogberg struggles for a bit. I think Nilsson is still the starter, until Hogberg presses the issue.

The reason to swap Nilsson and Hutton is obvious. It's to get a better draft pick.

The Sens don't need a mid round pick that badly imo. Hutton isn't an NHL level goalie at this stage, and the Sens need a guy who can potentially take 40+starts

Not just for a mid round pick. It upgrades our 1st round pick too. It solidifies our position at the bottom of the league for another season unless Hogberg steps up in a big way.

I don't think the Sens will be looking to continue to bottom out next year. I think they will still end up being bad, but I think they will be more in the 6-10 range than a bottom five team.

It would be a good idea to bottom out for 1 more year. Lots of good defensemen in next years draft.

If we don't go for Drysdale I think it would be good to get at least another elite defensemen to make a cup run.

If we go for Drysdale we still need a 2C and a top line RW.

I don't disagree that it would be a good Idea, I just don't think it happens. I think players like Chabot, Tkachuk and Batherson will take steps forward, and I'm assuming they make at least one significant addition, likely to the blueline or a top six forward. I still think they'll be bad, but they were surprisingly competitive under DJ this year, and I think they'll be a better team next year imo.

Lol. That's why I was thinking of getting a goalie with vision problems.
