Kapanen is staying and Johnsson will be moved for a d-man likely on his ELC so the RW spot is fine

Don't see either Dermott or Mikheyev making that for 1 year. If they only want a year they probably aren't making much more than their QO.

Mikheyev's the only guy I think Toronto should pull out all the stops to keep. Dermott, Kapanen and Johnsson should be considered up for sale if the price is right.

I think Dermott is only guy you named that I'd have a hard time justifying trading. Not sure any team trading for him is overpaying the Leafs.

I would think Mikheyev leaves. If I'm Dermott I would hope I could get someone to give me more 800k. Wouldn't even have to give up a draft pick

I like him and in long run am reasonably sure he'll have more value than we can get on the trade market.

But the problem is he doesn't fit great on the roster if muzzin returns. And as such he may be the piece that you gotta move in a cap crunch.

Dermott isn't good enough yet (unclear if ever) for that Rielly slot. He's better than that third pairing spot and in general that's a good thing to have guys be better than their spot. He can move up with injuries.

However in a cap crunch I think he is moved.

That being said if Muzzin's injury is terrible and he broke his neck than he fits in well at 2 LD and him and sandin battle as sandin develops for that spot
