Description
Thanks to @tkecanuck341 for making this clear - I'm interested in opinions regarding this trade. Not really interested in opinions in general.

Let's just say that the 1st is 9th overall pick, because by the point the trade would happen we'd know which pick this is.

In my opinion, the second Terminator film is better than the first one.

Probably worth Huberdeau. However that pick could be Lafrenière, especially considering our play tonight lmao.

For argument's sake let's say that pick is going to be 9th overall.

Oh, well in that case, I think it would be a mistake for Florida to trade Huberdeau. Something obviously needs to change in Florida, as they're too good on paper to be doing so poorly, but I don't think this is it. Huberdeau is a PPG player and signed to a laughable $5.9M contract for the next 3 years. That's almost as good as the MacKinnon contract.

Huberdeau, Barkov, and Ekblad should stay put. Everyone else should be on the table.

Then I'd do it. Huberdeau is much more suited to be our french star than Drouin ever will be. KK's arguably the best Habs player so far in the series though.

Yeah.

Original post had much more going FLA way, maybe went a bit overboard with the return (there was Domi, Norlinder, Fleury and Matheson included) and got pretty much bend over by raging Habs fans saying that Huberdeau is worth only these two assets and they shouldn't do it anyway because they have enough LWs... Sometimes I truly wonder what the f*ck is wrong with people in here.

I don't think it's enough for him imo. Huberdeau may be the most underrated player in the league, scored 92 points last year and was on pace for 92.6 points this year. All while on a jaw dropping $5.9M contract for 3 more years. I know he's a wing but if that isn't astronomical value than I don't know what is.

Huberdeau is definitely worth more than this. Quite a bit. If Montreal has the ability to do this. They take it and run and unplug all their phones.

Domi could be thrown in, with something less back to MTL. His time in MTL is over

I would gladly do that as a Habs fan. Don't think its enough though for Florida and frankly I don't think any team will pay the price Florida would ask for. Nobody ever pays full value and when they do, they generally regret it. If the Habs paid full value, I'd probably decline even though Huberdeau is that good.

Don’t think either team should do this. This trade is in Montreal’s favour, but I’m highly against trading KK rn.

Well obviously adding Domi makes the value closer, hes not a cap dump but I just dont see it happening. Top 10 LW's with term dont come cheap

Question for @DriveFor25 @SevenLeg @F50marco - would you rather do it if KK was replaced with Suzuki?

Not sure, Suzuki's floor is higher than KK, but the latter has an higher ceiling

At this point, no. Suzuki is arguably the better player.

Im gonna go against the grain here and say no, albeit it's a tough decision.

1 - There's a major risk here not knowing exactly what KK is. Anyone remember the talks of Huberdeau not living up to his potential, the questioning of his skating, and the arguments that he's a bust ; until he bulked up and became the player he is today -- remind you of anyone?
2 - I don't like the optics for the fabric of the team. The last thing MTL needs is another LW, though Huberdeau is an elite level winger. How long has MTL been searching for a centre?! I realize the hype around Suzuki and how he might be looking better, but can anyone safely say he'll turn out the better player? At this point in KK's development, Suzuki was still in the OHL, he's 11 months older. Plus, why not keep the two centres as the team's most promising future?

All-in-all it's not a bet I'd want to see Bergevin risk (who's repeatedly stated he will not sacrifice the future)

agreed. he knows that we need the keep the future. i think he has learned his lesson after the drouin trade to not trade young promising talent early.
