This team needs a major shake up

Created by: GeauxPreds1

Initial Creation Date: Aug. 3, 2020

Description
I don’t care how this team finishes the series. This team DOES NOT have no kind of chemistry. Besides the JOFA line this team has looked lost. It needs a major shake up where part of our core gets moved out

TOR rejects

Ellis for Nylander is fair, value wise at least

Leafs would need to decline solely based on cap. Me personally, I don’t really like the trade.

BUF TML declines
Not even fair IMO
TML aren’t trading Sandin + Robertson like that
BUF aren’t trading Joker for a LHD

yeah that toronto trade is a no. Nylander for Ellis was fine. Robertson+Sandin+Kapenan would be overpaying. Robertson at 18 is borderline NHL ready and in 2 years could become one a solid top 6 LW. Sandin at 19 has proven he can play in the NHL and in 3 years could take over muzzins spot. So no thanks.

I was wondering about this. I was going to make a post directed at NSH fans regarding where they stand on the team and if they would consider major changes (or possibly even go full rebuild) if they have little to no success this post-season. The team just seems to be missing something imo and they aren't exactly young. If they made the decision to pull the chute before it's too late, I think they might be better off personally.

If NSH does a full rebuild they keep the picks instead of signing Cirelli. If they're not tearing everything down, they don't trade Ellis and Ekholm.

I understand Leafs fans feeling like this is an overpay, but what other RD of Ellis' caliber are available? If Poile decides to sell Ellis, I think this is in the ballpark of what he can get.

NSH declines the EDM deal. With the retention and pick, it's an overpay.

Both teams decline the BUF deal. Talent wise, BUF wins the trade, but acquiring older players stunts their rebuild. Even with this trade they're not deep enough to contend yet. The pieces coming back from BUF aren't of much interest to NSH.

I wish I didn't agree with you, but I think it's time to consider the rebuild. Something hasn't been right since the WPG series a couple years ago. They lost their it factor, whatever it was.

However, Pekka is likely to retire after the 21 season. Business and sentiment don't always mix well, but I really would be surprised if Poile tore it down before Peks retires.

I'd be surprised too. It takes serious guts for management to go "y'know what, we're in the mix, but we we just don't have it". You almost never see that happen, but I think it might be the right decision for NSH.
