There are a few teams who can trade/swap for Johnsson. Sharks are strong on the list for sure!

I traded Engvall to resign Clifford. That's basically how that worked. Rather have Clifford.

I think Leafs would want to find a way to keep Engvall as well.

I would like to keep him as well! Heck I would love to keep Johnsson. Really like him. But it is hard to do.

Johnsson is gone almost certainly. Engvall is a small chance. He will more than likely be around next year.

We will see.

I like this roster though and there is very little wiggle room in the cap!

Personally I would rather not pay a 2nd for a 4th liner. Not that I dislike Clifford but it’s a steep price for someone who will play 5-8 min a night.

I like the general idea though. This is certainly plausible.

Well, we would be getting our 3rd back. So basically it's 31 spots in the draft. Not a straight up 2nd. But that's fair! Steep price, but Clifford is definitely filling a role that we didn't have filled!

I agree with what you are saying. However, I also think Clifford is bringing his character and leadership intangibles to the Leafs which is not easy to measure. He has been a tremendous influence on helping Kapanen become a better pro and play hard every shift and I am wondering how many other players are benefiting from his work ethic and commitment to winning. I have a total respect for the player and can see why Dubas added him to the team.
