If Maata keeps playing the way he does this post season, no need to buy him out. He's going to have some good value. I say the Hawks keep him tho and move de Haan.

Wings pass. Slater Koekkoek is really a 3rd pair d-man that would be a 1 year rental on the Wings given their prospects. He was a 3rd pair/#7 d-man but was forced to move up to the 2nd pair because of injuries on Chicago...that is particularly bad because he is arbitration eligible and his numbers will be inflated. His value is say a 4th rounder. Add that to the late 3rd rounder and it simply isn't enough to take on a 32 year old cap dump.
