A 1st, B+ prospect and a 60+ point winger seems like a massive overpayment for Rakell

The 1st is most likely later, Vorachek has a big il contract and is getting older.

I think people intensely underrate Voracek around here. He has a big contract but had played at very near his AAV most of his career. I understand the age and cap space argument, but I would also say he has been a better player than Rakell his entire career. Any way you slice it, when you're a competitive team giving up a 1st round pick, your second best forward prospect, and downgrading one of your best players to save some cap space is not a good idea

I see what you mean. What if Raffl or Friedman was added?

Are you referring to adding them into the trade that already exists or them replacing an asset?

Either. I just feel like Rakell could get a little more
Edit:

Both of the guys you listed are the epitome of "wouldn't be of much value to anyone else but are pretty valuable to Philly". Rakell is a good player on a good contract, but to be honest OP's offer is close to the maximum amount Philly would pay for him IMO. I could see them maybe adding a 3rd or a mid-tier prospect but that's about it

How about Wylie Laughton and 2021 1st?

That's a really tough call/probably as close to a perfect deal as could happen. The cons are it actually makes our cap situation worse and Laughton is one Hell of a role guy for us/ he is developing great. The pros are we would lose Laughton in 2021 anyways and we wouldn't be losing any guys who are part of a long term plan. Whether Philly would say yes or no would be 100% dependent on other moves they made that summer in regards to their cap space and roster spots

They won't be trading Wylie, who they literally just signed.

I think your expectation on what Rakell will bring back is inflated too much. Brink is a pretty dang good prospect here, and although the first might be late, Rakell's contract is what gets an enhanced return, and that contract is running out. Laughton would be a good player to have on the Ducks, however I think the flyers require more than his worth to m ove him.

Love how people still want to send Laughton back to the 4th line next year. Guy is arguably the best winger in the top-6 right now, but he'd be super useful playing 8 mins a night as 4C. Laughton is evolving guys, get on board and give him the credit he deserves.

Of course, but he also spreads the depth. The flyers are deep enough that they will have to put skilled guys in lower roles. Doesn't mean Laughton is underrated or anything...

I'd be interested in what your lines in this AGM would be
