That is a bad Carolina trade. Carolina have bottom 6 players in spades.

if they both lose, 25% chance he goes to one of them. Thats close to the same odds, a play-in team had of getting Laf in the 1st lottery

I’m an isles fan and I don’t feel like watching them face a triple left wing threat of Panarin-Lafreniere-Krieder 4 times a year for the next 10 years

the problem is that a team that could really frickin use Laf like Detroit or LA is’t going to get him. I know that the NHL wanted to spice things up and get us hockey fans excited for the restart, but it’s just not fair. Calling for a change in the lottery

if you're the devils...do you trade down from #7 so that you have a 25% chance? I wouldn't, but they do need a LW badly.

Bettman doesn't want Edmonton to win the Laf-lotto either, but he made this bed. And its his officials that are calling every ticky tacky little infraction (and sometimes perceived infraction) against Edmonton, so if they lose the play-in and win the lottery, he has nobody to blame but himself. Nevertheless, here's a hilarious quote from a leading Edmonton radio show host / blogger / Athletic writer, accurately depicting Bettman's distaste for the Oilers lottery luck:

"The Oilers could draft No. 1 overall, and that’s beyond incredible. IF Edmonton wins the lottery in 2020, my prediction is that the next lottery will not be a lottery at all. It will be a horse race, with all of the teams eligible represented by a specific horse. The race will start the moment Gary Bettman cocks his gun and shoots Edmonton’s horse."

Honestly, I’d be the most upset if pittsburgh or (I know I’m a jets fan) jets get him. I say this because their forwards are already really good and they become stacked to the max after this. I’m not going to complain if we do get him, I’d just feel bad if we did.

37% chance Edm, Tor or Pitts win. Assuming they all lose obviously. If Edm or Tor win I'll be vewy vewy upset.

1st, I think the league made a mistake giving these teams a chance before the 1st draft lottery happened.

2nd, I'm 100% confident the league used this draft lottery as an incentive for the teams ranked 9-16 to "play-in" against the 17-24 teams. Telling them, "play these hockey markets which had little chance of making playoffs. If you lose, you have a good chance at getting a better pick".

hawks decline. Nurse can leave as a UFA after 2 years. DeBrincat has 3 years + is an RFA when his deal expires. Interesting deal, but hawks pass

What do you mean? Assuming AZ loses to NSH. Big assumption considering they're up. They have 1 lottery pick. They could trade the New Jersey #7 to any other lottery team. Thus having 2 kottery chances

but i dont think they can make any trades until the draft and by then the losing play in team will have already won that lottery

I think its a bad trade for CHI. After watching this series I am not impressed with Nurse at all. Cat had a down year id rather bet on him. Pool party just resigned with a finnish team, and i dont know if he has an nhl clause in his deal.

He does have an nhl clause and it was to be expected he would resign just so he can get playing sooner. Will be signing back with Edmonton when the schedule is released for next year.
