Description
Get ready to tear me apart for this one...these are personal moves I wouldn’t mind seeing to add some grit to the Canucks. I don’t think the values are quite there, but I could be wrong.

Okay, time to deep dive.

Arizona Trade:
Boeser, a young sniper, who although is “injury prone” has all the abilities to become a perennial 30 goal scorer. Dvorak is a solid multi positional forward on a nice long term deal, while Chychrun solidifies the left side D. I don’t think Arizona makes this deal, for many reasons. One of the biggest ones being they’re thin on the back end. Moving Chychrun just adds to that. You might be thinking “hey, what the hell. They’re division rivals you idiot” Not after Seattle joins, as Arizona will move to the central division.

Chicago Trade:
I always see ACGMs moving Maatta for various reasons. One of them being cap space for the RFAs they need to resign (Kubalik, Strome etc) Ive always been a fan of his, even though he’s not a 60 point stud. So lets go after him. Vancouver moves out a current 3C in Gaudette, a speedy third liner with soft hands and size in Virtanen, and a small puck mover in Stecher. I think Nylander carries a fairly large trade value, but I’m not 100% sure. Maatta stacks the Canucks left side, while Nylander gets to join fellow countryman Pettersson on the top line. So once again, I’m not sure this gets accepted by Chicago because of the cap (they’re moving out $5ish but taking back $7+)

Pittsburgh Trade:
We have (had) one brother, why not get the other! I’ve wanted this kid since college. He bangs!! Bottom 6 forward in Tanev, for a pick which who knows what becomes of it, and a solid RW prospect in Lind. Pittsburgh always likes young, cheap players with a ton of upside. That’s Lind.

Benn Trade:
Cap dump in the final year of his contract. Someone take him pleeeaseee!

Toronto Trade:
Once again, a player I’ve always liked. Toronto has their cap issues, so let’s ease that and take the speedster off their hands. I think a 2nd and 3rd is fair value?

Chicago is not taking on more cap...that is the point of moving or buying out Maatta...to get cap relief. We simply don't have the need for any centers unless we trade Strome and even then, we have a great 3C prospect in Evan Barratt who just turned pro

Hawks trade isn't bad but for it to work it needs to be cap neutral. Neither team can take on much more cap. Hawks have no interest in Gaudette anyways. We already have Toews, Dach, Strome, Kampf as our NHL centers plus Suter we just signed who is a C/LW, as well as Barett and Kurashev who are promoting prospects for us.

Boeser gets you one of Chychrun or Dvorak, but not both. It doesn't help that those are 2 players Arizona is very attached to. I doubt they even consider.
