Hmmm curious on the Lundqvist part.
If you are going to retain 3.5mil then take on Hartman at 1.9mil (5.4mil total) you are only saving 100k in opposed to just flat out buying Lundqvist out for 5.5mil.
Is Hartman a piece of interest to you?

I mean given the choice of netting a player with team control who has a positive on-ice value vs. Not netting a player AND having 1.5 in cap commitment next season in the case of a buyout. I'd say a trade is objectively the better option.

I wouldn't say Hartman necessarily is a player of interest as much as it's "bottom 6 or bottom pair options with positive on-ice value". I think the amount of teams that would be a) interested in pursuing Lundqvist, and b) have such a player on their roster that they'd deem expendable enough to trade for Lundqvist makes the options kinda limited.

I think Hartman in that case works really well.

Unless Ragnarsson is worth the COL 2nd (which he isn't to us), Sharks decline
