No way the Flames can trade Monahan unless they find a better #1C somehow or decide to blow it up/retool.

In any case, at least one of the 8th overall or Cozens goes back to Calgary.

Pretty typical to see on here someone propose trading for one of your better players but somehow manage to keep all their prime assets in place.

1. Get Monahan
2. Keep your C of the future in Cozens
3. Also keep 8th overall

No way.

Well I'd be happy with both the PIT and CGY deals, that means neither would happen at those prices. Not enough return for either player both PIT and CGY say no.

Buffalo is in win now mode. We don’t have 2 years to wait, goaltending isn’t good enough for them we need a solution now

You aren't getting Monahan without Cozens going the other way

I think Pit would take the trade. They have Jarry and Desmith. Main trade is Montour a 2nd and 4th for Murray and Asplund for Simon. I think it’s fair for both teams

I agree I would like to see the goaltending improved..
Murray isn't the solution. He is no better than Ullmark and this contract for a mediocre goalie inhibits you from addressing some of our other immediate needs to get better now.

Although i agree with you and next years first isnt enough, sabres fans have enjoyed an extra helping of "we want your best player, but our best 8 assets couldnt possibly be included because.. ".

Gotta trade Eichel while he still has value. Once he officially asks to be traded value is toast

goalie prospects are fickle. UPL hasn't proven he is even an AHL goalie yet.

that doesn't get Monahan
And that is way too much going for Murray. I wouldnt touch a trade for nurray with a 10 ft pole

This is the issue with Sabre fans. Getting rid of 2 late picks and a prospect who is easily replaceable and dman who has been on the down slide for a number one goalie shouldn’t be an issue. We need to win now before things get worse aka Eichel requesting a trade.

You're absolutely right. When you show me a trade for a #1 goalie ill keep my mouth shut. Murray is not a #1 goalie he rode on the back of crosby and co. He has worse stats than Ullmark and nobody would give us that return for Ullmark. For sabres to be in win now mode they must keep their good players and identify upgrades. Murray is not an upgrade
