No thanks from Winnipeg on the Krecji deal. Boston would need to attach something nice to him if they want to move him as a cap dump.

except Krejci isn't a cap dump lol. Even in a down year for him, he would have been the 6th high point getting forward on Winnipeg. Krejci in an average season is around a 60pt center....far from someone whose a "cap dump" as you call him.

Okay, we won't call him a call dump. We'll just say at 34 he's not worth a 2nd round pick to the Jets for one season. The Jets need a long term solution if we're giving up valuable assets.

Right at the TDL a team making a run might give up a pick like that for a shot. However, the Jets aren't making a run and need a long term solution to put themselves in the position to contend for the long term instead of giving up future assets for short term fixes.

The odds of that 2nd round pick giving you a player of Krejci's caliber is slim to none and more than likely doesn't sniff the NHL for 2-3 years (minimum) after being drafted. I personally wouldn't trade Krejci, nor do I think he would waive to play for WPG.

So we'll just ignore that we'd only have Krecji for one year while the pick could be around for years. I agree though he likely wouldn't waive and Boston needs him if they want to give a run one more shot.

Sure the pick could be around for years, may never amount to much but could be around for years. Being its a 2021 pick you'd figure 3yrs is the most likely ETA for the pick to make the NHL roster, so you're looking at the 2023-2024 season. Now unless the pick is just a stud (again not likely), said pick will probably have a learning curve the first 2-3 years in the NHL while developing skill wise and physically . So you're looking 5-6 years before you have an idea of what the player is and that player being a true impact on the roster...assuming you hit on the pick.

If Sweeney had another Studnicka in the pipeline. Sure he might look to trade Krejci but he doesn’t.

You have coyle and stud, if they got a good offer for krejci I'm sure they'd consider it.
