these are similar to my lines except I would give Schultz another shot. I get hes been bad, but hes had to play with Johnson. I think he would look a lot better with Rikola

PP breakdown.
PP1-Rust on left half wall, Horny net-front, Sid down low, Tanger up top, Geno right half wall
PP2-McCann on left half wall, Horny net-front, Guentzel down low, Marino up top, Zucker right half wall

We need a RH shot on the left half wall (rust) but for PP2-McCann has the best pure wrist shot on the team and can snipe from the left side as he's done it as a LW.
Horny is the only good net front guy except maybe Marleau but he's been awful so I say double shift horny on the PP...let him just stand there and drive the entire MTL team crazy for 2 min.
Sid and Guentzel are great down low. period.
Letang/Marino are good distributors up top and Schultz has one PP goal since 2017. forget that one good year--that's all it was. He's been garbage since then.
Zucker/malkin on Left side seems good as Geno has a bomb and zucker can shoot for sure.
your thoughts??

I thought of that but Schultz has been so bad since his one good year (as I mentioned in the PP breakdown above) that I scratch him anyway. Riikola/Ruhwedel pairing was above 50% corsi so they can't be worse than JJ-schultz lol

if pens are struggling to beat the habs, how will they win the Stanley Cup? For the penguins, it's cup or bust. Anything less than a Stanley Cup at this point in the Crosby/Malkin window is considered a failure. I still think this group can do it, but they need to get their s*** together.

LOL I wouldn't be mad at all if we lost and got Lafreniere. but I'd rather have a cup....which is unlikely unless this team gets a major spark like now.

**Habs fan's views coming in**

I don't understand the number of PIT fans wanting Jarry. I understand he had the better season, but Murray has been good this series. He's a .935%
To me, the real issue seems to be the PIT defense and it's not just Johnson, Marino had a great rookie season, but it's showing he's a rookie. Letang seems to be the only PIT defense that was noticed during the last game. The number of breakdowns and rushes that were allowed to MTL was stupid.

MTL has speed and can play fast, but it can also be trouble for them when they find their match. PIT should be looking to bring speed. It showed last night, PIT should be targeting MTL's duo of Ouellet and Mete, the former is sooo slow and the latter is 5'7. Tanev was having his way with them and he looked great.

MTL is playing a 3 lines game (with Domi as the wildcard on the 4th). I think the third line for MTL has been the best, whichever combination Julien goes for (Lehkonen/KK/Byron or Lehkonen/Danault/Byron). Lehkonen and Byron are the unsung heroes of this series for MTL. They are excellent defensively and are speedsters who have completely had their way this series. If we're matching lines in the order you placed here, it seems like a better matchup for MTL.

You PIT fans would know better, but I would think you'd need to either place emphasis on your fastest skaters or maybe balance your 4 lines? Maybe throw a Guentzel or Zucker on the bottom six? MTL's 4th is weak, defense is not Domi's strong suit, Weise is just bad, and Evans was injured last game, meaning Weal is probably gonna be back. That's the obvious target here to break MTL...

I would put Lafferty over Sheary but I agree with the rest.

I thought Murray was a little leaky and should have got at least 1 of those goals yesterday.
that said the D was Bad as a whole especially Johson-schultz. marino made one mistake on that one goal but has been solid otherwise.
I agree PIT needs to play speedy as it's their strength. MTL hounded them relentlessly the last 30 min of the game and it slowed them down noticeably. guentzel and zucker should stay in the top-6. guentzel is a 40-goal guy and zucker wouldn't get much time on the 3rd line which has become the 4th line bc it's been so bad.
the 4th line is good but the 3rd line needs a fix....I'd put McCann back and Erod over Marleau and Lafferty.

I dont get the sheary hate... Lafferty was awful last game and Sheary has been very solid with a 63.1 CF% this series. Can Sheary score? no. but thats not his role on that line with two elite goal scores like Crosby and Jake. Sheary does a lot of the little things right. hes the least of our problems right now

It just seems like Sheary is the easiest guy to scratch cuz he's got the least amount of pedigree compared to all the other forwards. I am all for having good possession numbers but in the playoffs, none of that really matters. You need to make a big hit or score a big goal to make a difference. Marner has a 68% CF & 74% xGF yet he's being crucified right now.

Sheary plays his role right, and the expectations for marner vs sheary is a little different wouldn’t you say? Not a good example
