Without an extension in place, and gambling that way, I would say it’s solid, but I’m also a jets fan lol

Does Domi want to sign if he plays on the 4th line? I think MTL will trade him to get assets especially the way Kotkeniemi has played this week.

Adding Cernak would be great, not sure about Edmunson but I'm sure he'd be good enough, firmly believe that Morrissey and Pionk need D partners that have some size and snarl to their game.

Ya domi is getting a new address for sure, I’m just not sure if he’s doing mtl any favours with an extension or rushing to an extension. My fit would be either in wpg on that line or possibly on the lw with tavares and marner, but that would have to be a hometown discount, embarrassment of riches up front.

Mcnabb from Vegas would be nice with pionk, and Cernak, DeMelo, and possibly a variety of guys with morrissey, but the same token, even hamonic could possibly fit there. But ya they both need some edge with there skill.

A player like Domi that normally scores in the 30-45 point range, is poor defensively, which won't work well with Laine and Ehlers and will want more money than Ehlers can be acquired for less.

At a reasonable cost and with a reasonable contract I would give Domi a shot, but not at the cost if a 1st. The Jets are pretty good drafting with 1st round picks.

Jets would be dumb to not take this trade, it’s literally Domi for a 1st. That’s a steal, the 2021 draft is weak anyways.

I’m excited to watch the 2nd draft lottery on Monday, gonna feel really nice watching the jets win 1OA.

In the Jets mind it is as Stanley isnt getting anymore looks I would think...He may be able to blossom in MTL but...So MTL takes a flyer on him

Yeah I know, but I was more so thinking about this in a jets perspective. Stanley likely has little to no value, so it’s basically a 1st for Domi as perreault is a cap dump.

A 30-45 point, poor defensive player that will want to be overpaid can be obtained for much less than a 1st.

You're not getting Domi for less then a 1st and Perreault is a cap dump and Stanley has little value, this is a great trade for the Jets.

Hasn't Domi scored at a 50 point pace like all but one season he's been in the league?

Domi is a fine player. Him for a 1st and spare parts is totally reasonable. I also think that either him or Dylan Strome are the best options to get a 2C this year as they are now expendable to their current teams.

It sounds like you're overrating him. First, he's RFA and will want to be paid off his career year and it is a virtual guarantee he'll never see those totals again. Second he's a disaster defensively and we need our 2C to be good defensively to help cover up for Laine and Ehlers. Third, he apparently doesn't like the child of Montreal. So if he doesn't like that, he ain't gonna like Winnipeg. As I said I would take a shot at him, unless he gets a bad contract, I just wouldn't give up a 1st for a ~40 point player that doesn't fit the style we need.

He got 45 points in a shortened season(50 on pace)...he will get about 6M...which is totally fine.

As for defensively minded, that line will hold its own, esp as most nights Lowry's line will play against the top line anyways.
