Yuuuk.. Idk if you wanted to trigger habs fan but this is very bad. Jost is a bottom 6 player with MAYBE some top6 potential and the Colorado first is veeeery likely between 25 to 31 AND you want a 2nd coming back!??

KK had a bad season but he's still a highly potential player and he's not even 20! And if you looked the Habs game VS Pittsburgh you can see how good he can be.

I hope the habs trade is a joke. There is no way they are trading KK after his performances against Pittsburgh and the gap between KK and Tyson isn't 30 picks.

Either a troll job or clearly doesn't understand how the nhl works. Also I love how Avs fans all of a sudden are pretty cocky. I hope they realized how many years they sucked to become good again lol

i'm open to another point of view but as i posted in the other team the way i see it:

jost:
better defensively
more consistent
more durable with better injury history

kotkaniemi:
a little younger with better potential
cheaper for another year

offensively they are equals
kotkaniemi: 115 gp /42 pts - .365 ppg
jost: 208 gp / 72 pts - .346 ppg

Lol. Get real buddy. Jost is now 22 and still putting up that ppg. Kk just turned 20 and has an entire season of games behind Jost. And if you've watched KK recently you kay understand why his value is 10 times as Jost.

fair point but kotkaniemi doesn't appear to be getting better with age. he had 8 points this season and got demoted to the ahl. he was only on pace for 18 points over a full season this year. i think both he and jost need a change of scenery.

Ya but then he was a ppg player in the ahl and he is now playing amazing against Pittsburgh. His skating and passing really improved since he got demoted to the ahl.

Look if KK has the same ppg as Jost teo or three years down the line (which by the way he has been playing doesn't look probable) then you can suggest this as an option. But as of right now value wise KK>>>>>Jost.

i mean right now jost is the better player but as i said kk does have potential. i agree that kk has more value because of that potential that's why the avs drop down 30 spots in a strong draft. if kk doesn't improve next season tho he and jost are equals and it would be a 1-for-1.

they are almost equals in the nhl so far. kk does have another year to prove himself since jost is a 3 year pro and kk is only a 2nd year. kk's 2nd year was much worse than any year jost ever put up tho. i guess it comes down to what a team wants more. a more consistent two-way player or a higher skill but also highly inconsistent player. in 5 years time the 1st round pick could be the most valuable piece in the trade considering it's a good draft.

KK has 2 years behind Jost, physical development and maturity is more important than years in the NHL in this case so he has 2 years to get better before we can see the real difference between the two players. That said, he already put the same PPG and he's not an absolute stud in defense but hes already not that bad at it. And this year was a step back but he got injured early in the season with a concussion and another time after so it wasn't entirely his fault. Your points are not totally bad but in term of potential and what both players already done in the NHL, the difference is not moving from 55-60 to 25-30 not even close.

The Montreal trade is just silly. Montreal won't touch that with a 10 foot pole.

SJ let donskoi go because he wasn’t playing well in SJ, no point in bringing him back, especially for the contract COL gave him.

hmm i thought it was because they could afford him. fair enough. he should be able to get a similar return from another team.

Donskoi's analytics in SJ were very good. Solid middle 6 forward, if a little streaky on offense.
