I would be really cautious when signing Hamonic. WPD will definitely get him on a hometown deal, but they really need to limit the term. His game really fell off this season and will only get worse with age.
While I really respect his decision to opt out. I must admit I was a little surprised, at least in terms of his hockey career. He's heading into free agency and had a chance to bounce back in the postseason after a down year. He also was injured prior to the pause so realistically he goes 10 months between game action.

Yeah his 5v5 play was kind of meh this year, but he is an excellent player on the PK, which we clearly need help in lol. Yeah
I wouldn't like it very much if we gave him more then 3 years tbh
Rico for Niku+Perrault+ protected 1st? I’d go Niku + early 1st, but I don’t think you’ll have that. This saves you on the Perreault contract (which flips it from a 2nd to late 1st) so that you can sign a solid dman.
I really wouldn't trade Heinola but I would do Logan Stanley and a 2020 2nd, then add a bit more if needed
Id definitely say more on Stanley + 2020 2nd. Not sure to pick up a reserve list guy or take on another pick.
I wish Stanley would live up to his 18th OA position. 4 Goals and 7 assists with 80 PIMs in the AHL is really bad across 40 games. Would be nice to have him on the Marlies though. Bring the kid home.
