I kinda like it also.

Why cuz F logjam is helped & Lias can get properly developed & groomed til ready for the show. The immediate cap saving are a big bonus. Lias could be a future 4C or bump Gaudette or even make him an expendable trade asset. If NYR is ok with the picks they would be getting a refreshing restart for JV. Cost control would go a long ways looking ahead. Tough to let Jake go but gotta give to get.
